Sunday 25th January

David is from the South and Sue from the Northeast of England, and these young singer/guitarists are sharing an evening of traditional and original songs.
David’s music is a mix of traditional ballads, his own very personal songs, and some contemporary works. All are underpinned by his gentle nuanced guitar playing supporting the tradition of story and ballad singing. Folk London likened him to Chris Wood as a songwriter, and he was a semi-finalist at the Young Folk Musician Awards in 2011.
Sue’s skilful and prolific songwriting have made her a hit on the Northeast folk scene. Her songs range from feisty protests to dreamy lyrical ballads, which capture her love of the outdoors. Her distinctive voice and accomplished guitar playing had her supporting Robb Johnson during his last visit ‘up north’.

Admission £10 (£8 concessions). We hope that everyone who can pays the standard price to support the musicians and the club. However, we want to be inclusive, so, if you can’t afford the standard price, do ask for a concession.
On the majority of club nights you will be able to pay on the door although we do put advance tickets on sale online. On occasion demand will be very high and the evening may sell out in advance or there will be limited availability on the door. Please check the website regularly for the current position on specific evenings. We are primarily a seated venue, but on busy nights ticket holders may find they have to stand if they arrive late. For online tickets for this evening go to https://wegottickets.com/event/682486.
